As you can see by the year on the photo, Alicia was from my earliest days of shooting.
When I first met her, she was 19 years old & invited me to come see her perform in a Talent & Beauty Contest. Neither of her parents or siblings attended. Besides me, she had one friend in the audience watching her. This touched me greatly and I was impressed that she got up there and did it for herself.
I subsequently learned about her challenging upbringing. She became part of my family and I watched her go through incredible ups and downs to become the amazing person she is today.
